Maggie Q: As Mai Shiranui in "The King of Fighters" Movie

Actress Maggie Q (Live Free or Die Hard, Mission Impossible III) as "Mai Shiranui" in upcoming English language adaptation of a Japanese video game called "The King of Fighters". She will join cast members Sean Faris (Never Back Down), Ray Park (who’s playing Snake Eyes in the upcoming G.I. Joe movie), Will Yun lee (Elektra, Die Another Day) and David Leitch (who is also the film’s action choreographer).

The film will be directed by Gordon Chan (director of such films as 2000 AD and Beast Cops) and written by first time writer Rita Augustine.

The King of Fighters video game series ran from 1994 through 2005, although a new entry is due late this year. While the plot of the games usually centered on fighting tournaments (obviously) they included side stories involving magic, intrigue, and conspiracies.
