Manny Pacquiao VS Miguel Cotto: For Welterweight Championship on Nov. 14-09



Manny Pacquiao has finally agreed to fight the welterweight champion Miguel Cotto. The Pacquiao vs. Cotto showdown will be televise on HBO pay-per-view this coming November 14, 2009 at MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

Cotto gave the final Ok last week. Pacquiao did so ever the weekend. Bob Arum wouldn't disclose the terms yet, but did confirm it would be at 145 pounds, two below the welterweight limit. "Both sides have agreed to the limits," said Arum, whose Top Rank Inc. promotes both fights. "Now we're sending out formal contracts."

Pacquiao (49-3-2, 37 KOs) has held linear championship in a record four different weight classes, including at junior welterweight (140) with his second - round knockout of Ricky Hatton on May 2. in his only fight at welterweight, the Filipino, who began his career at 106 pounds, stopped Oscar De la Hoya in eight rounds in December.

The welterweight championship is split because Cotto (34-1, 27 KOs) has a victory over Shane Mosley, who beat Antonio Margarito in January. Margarito gave Cotto his only defeat in 2008.
